DESCRIPTION:Ready to swap the pool for open water and take your swimming to the next level? \nWith the 2026 Regional Open Water Swimming Competition fast approaching on Saturday 27 June\, Swim England North West is thrilled to offer two exclusive ‘Introduction to Open Water Swimming’ sessions – perfect for anyone curious\, adventurous\, or gearing up for their first open water race. \nThese sessions are designed for swimmers who want to build confidence\, learn the essentials\, and experience the thrill of open water in a safe\, supportive environment. \nTo join the adventure\, you’ll need to: \n\nBe 12+ on 31 December 2026\nBe a Swim England club compete member\nWear a wetsuit (hire available at £5 per session – let us know your height when registering)\nWear a bright swim hat (this will be provided on the day)\nBe comfortable swimming 2000m\nFamiliarise yourself and agree to the SENW Code of Conduct\nComplete a Health Form prior to the first session\n\nAttendance at BOTH sessions is required: \n\nSession 1: Sunday 17 May 2026\, 2.30–3.45pm (Introduction to Open Water Swimming\, relevant skills of acclimatisation/warm up\, sighting\, turning around buoys\, drafting\, race starts and tactics\, followed by a short training race.)\nSession 2: Saturday 6 June 2026\, 2.30–3.45pm (Review of skills from Session 1\, followed by a longer training session around the race course)\n\nWhat to expect: You’ll be sharing the course with other swimmers\, so spatial awareness is key. Remember to bring warm clothes\, a hot drink\, and a snack for after your swim – trust us\, you’ll appreciate them! Wetsuits are likely to be required for the first session\, and if you’re bringing your own\, wait until you arrive before putting it on. Don’t forget suitable footwear for the dryland warm‑up. \nIf you’re ready to feel the buzz of open water\, build new skills\, and dive into something unforgettable\, these sessions are your perfect starting point. \nWith entries for this year’s Open Water Swimming Competition closing on Wednesday 10 June 2026\, there’s no better moment to dive in and discover whether open water is your next big challenge. This is your chance to test the waters – literally – and see if the thrill of open water swimming is for you. \nBefore booking please ensure you are aware of the SENW Terms and Conditions for this event \nSpaces are limited\, so if you are unable to book a space due to demand\, but are interested in taking part please complete the following form – CLICK HERE.  In the event we have enough interest\, we may be able to arrange a further series of sessions on the same dates – spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  Unfortunately\, due to high demand\, the expression of interest form is now full and therefore we are no longer accepting responses.  In the event that a space becomes available\, we will re-open the expression of interest form. \nDeadline for booking is 9am Wednesday 13th May 2026 or as soon as all spaces have gone.

DESCRIPTION:The Team Manager 1 Course is aimed at those who are starting out on their volunteering journey and focuses on single-day competitions or camps where there is no overnight stay. \nIt covers all aquatic disciplines and will be delivered via Zoom. \nParticipants will be guided through the course content\, be able to ask questions\, and get involved with the group discussions. \nThe course covers: \n\nEssential elements of team management from pre to post-event duties\nRelaying information in a concise manner and make quick decisions based upon the best interests of individuals and teams\nHow Swim England’s safeguarding policy and procedures work in a team management context\nManaging athletes during competitions including promoting positive behavior at the venue\nHow to support coaches\, athletes\, and parents\nAnd how to identify hazards and risk factors that have the potential to cause harm to athletes – and the risk assessment requirements associated with the role.\n\nAttendees must be a \n\nmember of the ASA to attend this course.\nbe over 18 years of age\n\nTo make sure there is a wide variation of experiences in the discussions there will be a maximum of 5 members from each club allowed to attend the course\, please check with your club before booking your place. \nIf for any reason the course has to be cancelled by the Regional Office then a refund or alternative course will be offered. \nSENW Terms and Conditions \nClosing Date: 9am\, Tuesday 19th May 2026 \nSwim England North West Limited uses Zoom Communications Inc to provide video conferencing technology to deliver this service\, the session may be recorded for training and quality purposes.

DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nThis CPD will be delivered online as a webinar. \nA webinar is an interactive online seminar that is led by the tutor and allows participants in different locations to be guided through the course content\, hear the presenter\, ask questions\, and be involved in group discussions. \nAll our webinars are hosted on Zoom. \nThis workshop will raise your awareness of signs of abuse and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively\, appropriately\, and effectively should the need ever arise. \nWho is the course designed for? \nAnyone working with children both in a swimming teaching and coaching environment. \nCompleting this course will support your club Swim England’s Stronger Affiliation process. \nCourse content \nSwim England’s Safeguarding CPD is bespoke and reflects the needs of a pool environment.
