SUMMARY:SENW Regional Para-Swimming Training Session - Darwen Leisure Centre - CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:In line with Swim England Talent Team\, Swim England North West host a number of training sessions per year for the Regional Development Programme. \nThe programme is organised to development young talent\, with insight into aquatic alignment and underwater streamlining and stroke development. Land training exercise to build mobility\, stability and fundamental movement patterns. \nTo access SENW Regional Para-Swimming Training sessions all swimmers must meet the eligibility criteria for their medical impairment to be recognised for the competitive Para-Swimming pathway. The primary diagnosis must be stable and belong to one of the 10 eligible impairment types: \n• Hypertonia (high muscle tone)\n• Ataxia (involuntary movement)\n• Athetosis (involuntary contraction of muscles)\n• Limb deficiency\n• Impaired passive range of movement\n• Impaired muscle power\n• Leg length difference\n• Short stature\n• Visual\n• Intellectual \nPara-Swimming Regional Training aims to: \n\nIncrease number of swimmers and coaches within the Para-swimming pathway\nIdentify and develop talented athletes\nIncrease skills and knowledge of athletes to create a seamless transition onto national talent programmes\nIncrease skills and knowledge of coaches / workforce within each region\nDevelop knowledge of parents and guardians to support the para-swimmer\n\nKey athlete eligibility criteria: \n\nAll swimmers attending training should be a competitive member of a Swim England club\n12+ years of age by 31st December 2025\nSwimmers with a para-swimming classification (S1-S142\nSwimming regularly and can swim 100m or more across multiple strokes (where impairment allows)\n\nPara-Swimming Regional Training is aimed at those swimmers who are below British Swimming Programme level \nFor further information on Classification please Click here \nAll sessions will be led by a Regional team of coaches. SUMMARY:SENW Swimming Skills Session - (Butterfly & Breaststroke) - Darwen
DESCRIPTION:Swim England North West are pleased to inform our members that the second of our long awaited Regional ‘Skills Sessions’ is now available for booking.  Skills Sessions were previously delivered at various locations around the Region prior to Covid\, however due to various reasons\, we have been unable to offer them again until now. \nA series of different Skills Sessions will take place around the Region throughout 2025\, the first took place in Kendal back in January and was very successful – the next will be taking place at Darwen Leisure Centre on Sunday 11th May 2025. \nPlease note\, further Skills Sessions will become available as soon as they have been organised\, these will be at different venues around the Region. \nThis next session will focus on ‘Butterfly & Breaststroke‘ and will be open to any Swim England North West athlete who is: \n\nRegistered as a ‘Club Compete’ member\nAged 12 or 13 years on the day of the session\nWithin the qualifying time for at least 1 event at a County Championships within the Region (Cheshire\, Cumbria or Lancashire) and is able to provide details of at least 1 x qualifying event/s during the booking process\n\nThe session itself will last 3 hours 30 minutes in total and will consist of the following: \n\n12:30pm – arrival\n12:30pm – 12:45pm – Registration/Introduction\n12:45pm – 1:45pm – Land Training/Studio\n1:45pm – 3:45pm – Pool Session\n3:45pm – 4:00pm – Debrief/Athlete Collection\n\n  \nImportant Information: \n\nWhere possible\, athletes are requested to bring their own Yoga Mat for use during the Land Training Session\, as the venue has a very limited number of them available.\nAn Athlete Health Form must be completed for each Athlete registered to attend  – failure to do so will result in the Athlete being unable to take part in the session\, please only complete this Health Form once you have a confirmed place.\nDuring the booking\, you will be required to confirm you or the athlete are aware of the ‘SENW Code of Conduct‘ and ‘SENW Terms and Conditions‘\, we would therefore request that you read these prior to completing the booking process\, these are applicable for all SENW Events and Courses.\n\nAny coaches from around the Region who would like to get involved in the delivery of the session\, or attend as volunteer coaches in order improve or pass on their knowledge and experience\, are requested to contact the SENW Regional Office via clubdevelopment@swimnorthwest.org. \nDeadline for all bookings and Athlete Health Forms will be 9am on Tuesday 6th May 2025 or as soon as the session is fully booked.

DESCRIPTION:Swim England North West are pleased to announce the initial training session and selection of the team to represent the North West Region at the U16 Boys Inter-Regional Championships 2025. \nFollowing the first session selected athletes will invited to a further 3 training sessions for a chance to compete in the North West Boys U16 Inter Regional team. \n  \nCompetition date 5th & 6th July 2025 in Liverpool. \n(All athletes must be available this weekend). \n  \nPlayers must be registered as Swim England Club Compete (previously Cat 2) in order to attend Regional Academy Training. \n  \nFor players born 2010/2011 \nWho must have a 400m swim time under 6 minutes. \n  \nTraining session times and venues \nSaturday 17th May 2025\, 14:00 – 16:00 at East Manchester Leisure Centre \n  \nSessions will consist of \nIntroduction \nWarm Up \nSwim tests \nTechnique assessment \nScrimmages \nMatch play \n  \nParticipants should bring trainers and kit to each session for a land warm up which may be required for some sessions. \n  \nPlease ensure the Health form below is completed by the deadline of  Wednesday 14th May\, \nClick here to access the health form \n  \nClosing Date; 9am\, Wednesday 14th May 2025. \nSENW Terms and Conditions \nPersonal belongings remain the responsibility of the individual and are taken into venues at the individuals own risk.
