The RPP has been running since 2018 and given swimmers in the region the opportunity to grow and develop in support of their home programme. The programme has been developed as a partnership between Swim England North West, Manchester City Council, MMU and the City of Manchester Aquatics, that has been designed to give additional development opportunities to swimmers which compliments the programme within their home club.
Athletes on the programme are able to access additional support services such as physiotherapy, nutrition, physiology and strength and conditioning to help them to continue to develop in their home club environment and negate the need to move programmes. As part of this program, swimmers will have access to the Manchester Pro Squad training program, enabling the swimmers to train together once per week to experience appropriate additional challenges within a training environment. This session is flexible and is to be set in conjunction with the home coach with long course training available early morning and short course sessions available in an evening.
