Swim England North West 2026 Summer Regional Championships Commence with Outstanding Performances

The opening weekend of the Swim England North West 2026 Summer Regional Championships took place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th, delivering an exceptional standard of competition and showcasing the region’s emerging swimming talent.

The event was honoured by the presence of the President of Swim England Roger Prior along with his wife Sue who presented medals to the weekend’s top-performing athletes. Also in attendance were Swim England North West President Tom Rock and Cheshire County President Barry Keeling.

A total of 377 swimmers aged 14 and under competed across 22 events, completing 1,212 swims over the course of the weekend. The level of performance was notably high, with approximately one-third of all swims resulting in personal best times—an impressive achievement given that many qualification times were secured only recently.

The success of the competition reflects the ongoing dedication and professionalism of coaching teams from our region’s affiliated clubs, whose commitment continues to support athlete development and performance across the North West.

SENW Directors recognise the essential contribution of volunteers, including door staff, marshalls, AOE operators, and technical officials. Their collective efforts ensured the smooth and efficient delivery of the event.
