Ready to sharpen your open water skills and get valuable time on the course ahead of the 2026 Regional Open Water Swimming Competition?
With race day approaching on Saturday 27 June, Swim England North West is pleased to offer a dedicated Open Water Familiarisation Session — ideal for swimmers who have already completed open water training but want an additional opportunity to have a coached swim at the competition venue.
This session is designed for confident open water swimmers who want to refine their technique, practise race‑specific skills, and build familiarity with the course in a safe, well‑supported environment.
Saturday 20th June 2026 – Advanced Training Session
You’ll be sharing the venue with other swimmers, so strong spatial awareness is essential. Bring warm clothing, a hot drink, and a snack for after your swim — you’ll be glad you did. Wetsuits are likely to be required for the first session; if you’re bringing your own, wait until arrival before putting it on. Suitable footwear is needed for the dryland warm‑up.
If you’re aiming to feel fully prepared, boost your confidence, and get comfortable with the race environment, these sessions offer the perfect opportunity.
Athletes attending this session are expected to have already entered the Regional Open Water Swimming Competition. With the entry deadline on Wednesday 10 June 2026, this session offers an ideal opportunity to fine‑tune your race preparation and get familiary with the course ahead of competition day.
Before booking, please ensure you have read the SENW Terms and Conditions for this event.
Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Deadline for booking is 9am Wednesday 17th June 2026 or as soon as all spaces have gone.
