North West Winter Championships 2026 – Accepted Entries Now Available

Accepted Entries Update

Following the publication of accepted entries, an administrative error was identified which resulted in a higher number of swimmers being accepted into one event than specified within the competition conditions.

After reviewing the circumstances, the decision has been made to honour the published accepted entries for the affected event, as swimmers and clubs entered in good faith and should not be disadvantaged by an organisational error.

All other events have been accepted in accordance with the published competition conditions and acceptance criteria.

Important Event Security Information

In preparation for the implementation of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, which is coming into force early next year, the venue are implementing the requirements now to ensure everything runs smoothly by the time the law comes into force. This means enhanced security measures will be in place throughout the event.

Please be aware that:

Security personnel will be present at the venue.
Bag checks will be conducted on entry.
These additional security measures may result in delays when entering the venue.

We ask all attendees to allow extra time for arrival and thank you for your cooperation.

Backfilling

Clubs and athletes are reminded that the accepted entries were published on Thursday 22nd October 2026 and that the backfilling deadline is Monday 26 October 2026. Any vacancies created through withdrawals during this period may be offered to athletes whose entries were initially rejected. Athletes selected for backfilling will be notified by email, and updated accepted entry lists will be published accordingly.

Backfilling provides additional athletes with the opportunity to compete at the North West Winter Championships and gain valuable championship experience. We therefore ask clubs to review their accepted entries as soon as possible and notify any withdrawals at the earliest opportunity.

Early withdrawals allow vacant places to be reallocated fairly and give other swimmers the chance to take part in a regional championship event.

Please note that withdrawals from heats must be submitted using the online entry viewer in accordance with the published event conditions

Athlete Accreditation

All athletes will be required to have a printed event pass with them during the championships.

Event lanyards will be available if required, however athletes must ensure they arrive with their printed pass.

Athletes who do not have a printed pass will be required to pay £5 for a pass to be printed.

Coach & Team Manager Accreditation

All coaches and team managers requiring access to poolside must obtain accreditation prior to the event.

Spectator Tickets

Spectators will require a valid ticket for entry to the event.
