With the qualifying window for this year’s Summer National Competitions now officially closed, anticipation has been building across the country. Following a series of outstanding performances at Regional Championships nationwide, the list of relay teams qualifying for the Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships 2026 has now been revealed — and the standard this year is nothing short of exceptional.
With only 30 teams able to qualify per event, competition has been fierce and every place hard‑earned.
A huge congratulations to the North West teams who have secured their spot and will be heading to Sheffield this summer to compete on the national stage. Your hard work, determination, and standout performances have truly paid off.

The Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships 2026 takes place from the 16th to the 22nd July 2026 at Ponds Forge Sheffield, with the relay events taking place on the 19th, 20th and 22nd.
In addition to the relay qualifiers, the North West is celebrating an incredible number of athletes whose names appear on this year’s Summer Competitions Invitation Lists. These lists recognise swimmers who, during the national qualifying window, delivered performances strong enough to earn invitations to some of the biggest events of the season – including the Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships, Swim England Summer Meet, Scottish Swimming Summer Meet, Swim Wales Summer Meet, and the Aquatics GB Next Gen Para-Swimming Championships 2026.
This is a phenomenal achievement and reflects the depth of talent, commitment, and determination across our Region.
A huge congratulations to every single North West athlete who has qualified to compete this summer. You’ve earned your place on the national stage, and we’re behind you all the way. Wishing you the very best of luck as you take on the next challenge in your journey.
