North West Regional Development Programme – Final Session Held in Wigan
Last weekend, the region hosted a range of events, including the final session of the North West Regional Development Programme. We were delighted to welcome our athletes to Wigan Life Centre for a day dedicated to learning, development, and skill-building.
The swimmers did an excellent job representing their clubs, demonstrating both commitment and enthusiasm throughout the day. We hope everyone who attended not only enjoyed the experience but also gained valuable insights and skills to support their future progression in the sport.
This year’s programme was delivered by an experienced coaching team, including Andrew Ferns, Alison Hurst, Dan Austin, Joel Weston, and James Collins, under the leadership of Lead Coach Ian Ingman.
Our Physiotherapy Lead, Leanne Pridding, provided expert guidance on land training and supported swimmers throughout the day, assisted by Caitlin Gibson. Their contribution ensured athletes were well-prepared both physically and technically.
Swimmers are selected for the programme based on their 200m Individual Medley times at the point of selection, and must be aged 13 by the end of the year.
Further information on the selection process can be found here.
