The North West once again made waves on the national stage at the GoCardless Swim England National Age Group Water Polo Championships 2025, held last weekend at Coventry’s Alan Higgs Centre.
Among the 14 talented teams from across the country, the City of Liverpool squad stood out with a determined mission — to reclaim the national title they last held in 2023. After a strong campaign and a series of thrilling matches, the Liverpool athletes showed their class and composure, battling their way into the final.
In a gripping showdown against Otter, Liverpool held their nerve to secure a 6–3 victory, regaining their crown as the Swim England Under-15 Female National Age Group Champions. Their teamwork, resilience, and relentless drive ensured the national title returned to Merseyside.
The North West’s strength didn’t stop there. Both City of Manchester and Tyldesley represented the region with pride, going head-to-head in the 5th–14th playoffs. In a tightly contested encounter, Manchester edged out Tyldesley with a 9–7 win, claiming 9th position overall.
This year’s championships showcased the exceptional talent, spirit, and commitment of North West athletes and clubs, reinforcing the region’s reputation as a powerhouse of English water polo.
A huge congratulations to all the players, coaches, and teams involved for their fantastic performances and dedication throughout the competition!
