The National Artistic Swimming Combo Cup was held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield on Saturday 4th July.
With over 700 athletes from 33 clubs taking part (which included almost 100 routines), the competition showcased some of the very best artistic swimming talent from across the country. The North West was strongly represented by five clubs, with City of Salford SSC once again making history by being crowned Champions for a record-breaking fifth time!

In session 1, City of Salford SSC secured the North West’s first gold medal in the 13-19 Division 1 event. This success was quickly followed by another gold medal from Stockport Metro (Team 2) in the 15 & Under Division 1 event, where they finished an outstanding 1st place out of 23 teams. Also competing in the 15 & under Division 1 event, Stockport Metro (Team 1) achieved an excellent 6th-place finish. Denton ASC (Team 2) placed 12th, while Denton ASC (Team 1) finished 23rd overall.
Session 2 brough further strong performances, with Stockport Metro finishing 5th in the 13-15 Division 2 event and City of Salford SSC claiming a Bronze medal in the 12 & under Division 2 category.
The final session of the day continued the North West’s medal success. City of Preston Aquatics delivered a superb performance to take gold in the 13-19 Division 2 event, while Denton ASC secured an impressive 8th-place finish in the same category.
The last event of the competition, the 15-19 Division 2 event, saw Trafford Artistic Swimming Club achieve a commendable 9th place overall, while City of Salford SSC added to their medal tally with a silver medal performance.
At the end of the day, all club points were combined to determine the overall Combo Cup standings. Having accumulated the highest points total of all 33 clubs, City of Salford SSC were once again crowned Combo Cup Champions and proudly lifted the trophy.

Congratulations to all North West swimmers, coaches, and clubs on their outstanding performances throughout the competition. The results achieved across all age groups and divisions are a testament to the dedication, talent, and hard work that exists across the region. From gold medal-winning routines to strong top-ten finishes, North West athletes once again demonstrated the exceptional standard of artistic swimming that continues to thrive within our clubs.
A huge thank you must also go to the coaches, team managers, officials, volunteers, and families whose commitment and support make these achievements possible. Their efforts behind the scenes help create opportunities for our swimmers to develop, compete, and succeed at the highest level.
