A fantastic weekend in Southampton for our North West athletes at the 2026 Swim England Diving National Skills Finals.

Two divers from Burscough Diving Club and one from Manchester Aquatics Centre DC represented the region, with Grace R making history as the first North West diver in several years, and the first ever from Burscough DC to win a medal, securing bronze in the E1 Female (8) category. Her teammate Ruby B also delivered a strong performance, finishing 11th out of 31 competitors in the D2 Female (11) category.

Meanwhile, Winter McM from Manchester Aquatics Centre DC delivered a strong performance, making the most of a fantastic opportunity to compete on the national stage. She finished 15th overall in the highly competitive C2 Female (13) category — an excellent achievement and valuable experience at this level.

Given the extremely limited diving facilities available across the North West, simply achieving the qualification standard for these national events is a major accomplishment. To come away with a medal is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the dedication of the athletes, coaches, parents, and volunteers who make it all possible.

A huge well done to all 3 competitors and thank you to everyone involved, and here’s to a bright future for diving in the North West.
