Join the Governance Committee at Swim England North West (SENW)

Swim England North West Ltd (SENW) is seeking a passionate and committed individual to join our Governance Committee. This voluntary role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting the effective governance, management, and administration of the Region, its sub-committees, and discipline groups.

About the Role
As a member of the Governance Committee, you will provide expert advice to the Board on all governance matters, helping ensure our Region operates efficiently, transparently, and in line with Swim England rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Governance Committee in fulfilling its responsibilities.

• Issue model constitutions for affiliated clubs and organisations, ensuring compliance with Swim England rules.

• Review and approve constitutional rules of affiliated clubs and other organisations.

• Assess and recommend approval of applications for affiliation to the Region.

• Advise on amendments to the Company’s Articles of Association, rules, policies, and procedures.

• Draft proposals for changes to Articles, rules, and regulations for Board approval.

• Provide guidance to the Board, sub-committees, discipline groups, and others on governance and compliance matters.

• Maintain records of Board recruitment, service, and ensure new Directors receive formal induction and a written statement of responsibilities.

• Review company policies every four years to ensure they remain current and effective.

Person Specification
We are looking for someone with:

• A strong interest in governance and organisational administration.

• The ability to work collaboratively and provide constructive advice.

• Attention to detail and an understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks.

• Commitment to supporting the growth and effectiveness of the Region and its clubs.
