Coaches, team managers and chaperones need to ensure their Safeguarding qualification has been recorded by the Swim England Membership team in order for them to get poolside accreditation in 2018.
As of 1st January 2018, if our Membership team do not have proof of qualifications, support staff will not be able to apply for a poolside accreditation at Swim England national events. You can find out more about Safeguarding and Protecting Children courses, and how to submit proof on the Swim England website.
In anticipation of the new requirements, the IoS will be holding a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course during the Swim England National Winter Championships. If you have coaches, team managers or chaperones attending the event, this could be a great opportunity to update their qualification if necessary.
The Safeguarding and Protecting Children course is happening on Wednesday 13 December 2017. The workshop will take place from 12:30-3:30pm in the Skyline Bar at Ponds Forge. The course fee is £35 per head, and there are limited spaces available.
