In line with Swim England Talent Team, Swim England North West host a number of training sessions per year for the Regional Development Programme.
The programme is organised to development young talent, with insight into aquatic alignment and underwater streamlining and stroke development. Land training exercise to build mobility, stability and fundamental movement patterns.
To access SENW Regional Para-Swimming Training sessions all swimmers must meet the eligibility criteria for their medical impairment to be recognised for the competitive Para-Swimming pathway. The primary diagnosis must be stable and belong to one of the 10 eligible impairment types:
• Hypertonia (high muscle tone)
• Ataxia (involuntary movement)
• Athetosis (involuntary contraction of muscles)
• Limb deficiency
• Impaired passive range of movement
• Impaired muscle power
• Leg length difference
• Short stature
• Visual
• Intellectual

Those swimmers attending for a classification skills observation to begin the process of classification can be training members of a Swim England club
Para-Swimming Regional Training is aimed at those swimmers who are below British Swimming programme level

All sessions will be led by a Regional team of coaches. All qualified Coaches and Teachers from within the region are invited to observe and assist with delivery of all the Swim England North West training sessions.
