Two young athletes from City of Chester Swimming Club who had previously completed their Bronze DofE Award through the Region, were recently presented with their Silver DofE Award Certificate at a squad training session by members of the Regional Office, Dean Sumner and Sue Robinson (pictured).
Both athletes, Andrew Collins (left) and Alex Keen (right) have been members of City of Chester Swimming Club since 2017, and are successful members of the club’s Water Polo Team – they have been able to complete their DofE Awards through the Region due to having also taking part in the SENW Young Volunteer Award.
Both Andrew and Alex have been able to provide outstanding evidence whilst completing both their Young Volunteer Award and their Bronze and Silver DofE Awards. They have provided evidence of having completed a variety of officiating qualifications, they have demonstrated clear progression within their chosen phyiscal activity (Water Polo) and evidenced dedication to volunteering, as well as upskilling in the fields of music and first aid.
Andrew and Alex are the first athletes to have completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver Awards through the Region – we would like to congratulate them both on their achievements so far and would like to wish them the very best of luck as they progress onto their Gold Award.
