We have today been made aware that an organisation known as ICSPA, the Independent Child Safety Protection Audit, has contacted some sports clubs directly via email stating the club is required to urgently complete a safeguarding audit.
The emails make reference to the National Safeguarding Compliance Association, Section 11 compliance of the Children’s Act, Sport England and the NSPCC Child Protection in Sports Unit. It is signed by Sean Harper, Safeguarding Compliance Team with the website www.icspa.org.uk.
Despite having an official looking website, we do not know what this organisation is and the advice from our contacts at the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit is not to respond.
Therefore if you receive an email, please contact the Swim England Legal Team (Legal@swimming.org) that you have been contacted.
Please ensure this information is shared with any publicly facing officer of your club especially your Welfare officers whose information may be shown on your clubs website/literature.
Please do not respond to any requests from this organisation.
