Swim England and Manchester City Council have announced that Manchester will continue to be the training base for the National Water Polo Talent Squads through to 2020.
The agreement is an extension of the current contract, which sees the Nation’s finest water polo players at U17, U19 and Senior level, train across three of the city’s venues, including the world leading Manchester Institute of Health and Performance.
Following a meeting between representatives of Swim England and Manchester City Council, George Wood, Sports Development Director at Swim England said “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Manchester City Council, ensuring that our national squads have access to world class training facilities”.
Earlier this month Manchester Aquatics Center hosted the Water Polo National Age Group Championships (U15) which saw more than 300 players take part across 26 teams, support by 51 coaches and numerous team staff.
Swim England North West region in hearing the news are pleased that our regions facilities can support the next generation of water polo players and look forward to success in 2020.
