Swim England North West under 16 boys water polo teams have been hard at work training for the 2019 Inter-Regional Water Polo Championships, taking place over the weekend of 29th and 30th June 2019.
The North West Region has selected two teams to enter into this years’ competition, with the North West Tigers looking to retain their title, after winning the competition in 2018.
North West Tigers will be playing in front of a home crowd at Blackpool’s Palatine Leisure Centre. On Saturday, the team will open up their campaign against London followed by North East. Sunday will see the team compete against South West, with their final game played against West Midlands.
Nikolaos Misyris, head coach for the North West Ravens, will travel down to Walsall Gala baths and start their championships against East Midlands followed by Ireland, and finally finish day one against Wales. Day two, will see the Ravens compete against East followed by their closing game against South East.
North West Head Coach, Zak Sly said:
“It is great to once again enter two teams into one of the top competitions in the United Kingdom for this age groups, giving more players the opportunity to compete. It is great to be hosting Division One at Blackpool, if you are around I would recommend you come down and watch the talent that will be playing at the weekend“.
Swim England North West would like to wish both teams the best of luck over the weekend!
