SENW’s first Young Volunteer Award Introductory Day

Swim England North West (SENW) welcomed members from Ulverston, Barrow, Chorley Marlins, Blackpool Aquatics, Bolton and Carnforth Otters at our first Young Volunteer Introductory Day which was held at Kendal Leisure Centre today.  The Young Volunteers took part in various workshops throughout the day, including an Introduction into Volunteering within Aquatics, The Young Aquatic Helper and Stay Safe in Sport – Safeguarding for 13 years+.

Thanks to Julie and Carolyn for their support and delivery on the day.

Our Young Volunteers now have 12 months to complete their workbooks, which include online activities, shadowing experiences, discipline specific qualifications/experiences along with aquatic based activities and useful information.  Many of the participants in Kendal are already undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Award and will be utilising Young Volunteer Award as evidence towards them.  For those not already signed up to the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, they will have the opportunity to do so through Swim England North West Office.
