Success at the Go Cardless Swim England Artistic Swimming Championships 2024

The Swim England Artistic Swimming National Championships 2024 took place at the Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Nottingham over the weekend of the 27th and 28th April 2024.

The competition was attended by three North West clubs; City of Preston Aquatics, City of Salford Synchronised Swimming Club and Trafford Artistic Swimming Club.

Day 1 – Saturday 27th April 2024

The first day proved to be very successful for the North West teams, with medals being won in a number of events, including the Technical Solo, Acrobatic Team, Technical Duet and Free Team.  The headline news for the first day of competition was City of Salford making history by taking the Gold medal for the first time, in the Free Team event – full write up for Day 1 can be found here

Day 2 – Sunday 28th April 2024

The second day was just as successful, with medals being won by City of Salford in the Free Solo and Technical Team events.  The North West club added to their first ever Free Team title the previous day, with a win in the Technical Team event, resulting in the club being awarded the ‘Redwood Trophy’.  The Redwood Trophy is awarded to the club that achieves the highest total score for the Technical and Free Team events.  We are sure you will agree that this is an amazing achievement, both for the club and the athletes involved.  Resulting in the Club winning this prestigious award for the first time.

There was further success during day 2 of the competition, as City of Salford Synchronised Swimming Club athlete, Sophie Flemming was also awarded the ‘Holland Cup’.  The Holland Cup is awarded to the athlete with the highest total score achieved from the 7 events available over the weekend – Sophie competed in 6 of the 7 available events, achieving fantastic results in each.  Team-mate, Sophie Rowney finished in second place overall.
