SwimMark Update – February 2018

Please find below a number of updates to SwimMark in February 2018 and should be passed to all relevant personnel.

Element 13 and 14

This will now include an updated statement that all club personnel must attend a Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop within 3 months of their starting the role. The current statement of ‘within reasonable time’ will be updated to state this requirement. This rule should be enforced with effect from 1st April 2018. In addition SAFE CIC (Standard) online training course is now accepted for SwimMark purposes. Please also note that a Safeguarding Certificate from The Pony Club is not endorsed by the CPSU and therefore does not meet the standards for Swim England.

DBS

All individuals on poolside who are above the age of 16 must hold a valid and in date DBS. The requirement of a DBS is set by the law and if individuals meet the eligibility criteria then this process should be carried out.

If you have any queries or questions on any of the above or any other areas in connection with SwimMark, please do not hesitate to contact your club officer who will be happy to assist.  More information about our team can be found by clicking here .
