Youth Advisory Panel

Five young volunteers have been appointed to the Swim England Youth Advisory Panel and will act as ambassadors for their sports both locally and nationally with two of these coming from the North West Region.

Elysia Zdolyny and Ellie Conway of Trafford Metro SC, join fellow club member Craig McNeil and Ellie Bamber of Satellites SC, who have both already been on the panel for two years.

Swim England set up the Youth Advisory Panel in 2007. It has around 10-15 young people aged 16-25 from all aquatic disciplines. Their feedback and discussions at quarterly meetings feed directly into Swim England

Keeping young people engaged with our sports is very important and both Elysia and Ellie have been part of the Swim England North West Young volunteer programme over the past two years.

Sports Development Director George Wood said:

“I would like to congratulate the five new members of the Youth Advisory Panel. Making sure that there are young people engaged with our work is essential. They are the future of our sport at club and community level.

“Including young people in the decision making process helps keep us relevant. It allows us to understand the needs of the young people involved in our sports.

“I am sure these new members of the Panel will have lots of great ideas. The Swim England team is looking forward to working with them.”

The Swim England Volunteer Engagement team uses their skills and expertise to help develop volunteer resources such as the Good Club Guides as well and influence change within the organisation.
